1.0 Network News
1.1 Community Network 4 Manchester:
Following CN4M's request to the Manchester Partnership to clarify our
funding position for this year, they have responded and we have held an
initial meeting to further understand and clarify their response.
There are a number of issues that need further work and the discussions will
continue over the coming weeks, including the allocation of funding to some
sub-networks. Fortunately, there is an indication that any changes will be
phased and a 'tapering' of funding would be appropriate. This would fall in
line with CN4M's plans to produce a strategic plan and introduce a quality
framework. We expect that all networks would receive a payment for the
first quarter in April.
The one area where there was complete clarity is that there will be no
funding for the Neighbourhood Community Engagement Workers in this year's
allocation. The NCEWs have been informed and the Executive and core team
will support the NCEWs and the sub-network areas they are linked to, to
minimise the impact on delivery as much as possible and ensure the
individuals concerned are given every support to find alternative
employment.
Further information will be circulated as soon as we have confirmation of
the way forward for the remainder of CN4M's funding.
