Gather Round the Piano Community Music Project
Posted October 10th, 2008 by estellew
Start: 10/10/2008 - 11:46

Gather Round the Piano is based on the traditional idea of gathering round an instrument or band, in this case a piano, for a community sing-song or jam session. It will be a chance for community groups to have fun trying out musical ideas and to create new pieces of music which combine their own muscial heritage and ideas with the idea of gathering round a piano. You don’t have to be a musical group or have any previous experience.

Who is the project for?

Community groups who would like to explore the music they know and love in a new way. Any age group welcome. The nature of the project makes it unsuitable for young children unless they are part of a mixed adult / child group. We’re looking for a total of 6 groups to be involved.
How do we get involved?

If you want to register your interest or have an informal chat about the project for some more details, email learning@bridgewater-hall.co.uk or call 0161 950 0000 and ask for Emma Cunliffe.

We will be finalising the groups very soon, so please get in touch asap if you would like to be involved.

For further information, please see the document below.
